About El Paso, Border Patrol Roleplay:
Are the missions repetitive? Yes. Are the controls super simple? Absolutely. Is the dialogue preset for a controller, causing my daughter to ask repeatedly “what’s the left stick?” as she hunts on the keyboard for the up arrow? Annoyingly, yes (the dialogue, not my daughter). Would I be able to complete the entire game flawlessly in under thirty minutes? You know, not to brag, but I’d bet real money on it. But the game is for her, not me. Does my 3-year-old love playing the same missions over and over with her stuffies positioned around her, while showing them what they are doing on-screen and having me do the voices? You betcha. Did my daughter wake up early this summer-break morning, begging to play this game, and giving my wife an extra hour to sleep in? Yaaaz. While I don’t feel this game is worth $30, I think at half-off it’s fairly priced; the graphics are good, it plays well with nVidia surround (it freaked out when I first clicked full screen, but on restarting the game it looks good…not super wide screen, but 16:9), it has held her interest for several hours, and it seems likely at this point that it will continue to do so (I’ll let you know if this changes). If you have a child that’s a Paw Patrol fan (and you likely wouldn’t be reading this if you don’t), pick this one up on sale. This game is awesome. 8.5/10 It’s a platformer based action game. You complete missions through simple decision making and collecting collectibles on the way. Pros: – Graphics are incredible – Gameplay is amazing and very fun to play Cons: – No configuration of controls in the settings menu, you have to configure it outside the game and some controls you cannot configure on a keyboard. – I really wish there was more missions than 16, 2 hours playing this already half way through the game. Edit: I am 100% complete with the game total time ~5 hours. – Really wish there was more to the game. Such as online play of some sort like COOP missions with friends. – Collectibles are not so challenging to obtain, they had to make it easy for the sake of the targeted young audience. – Zuma’s underwater ability is a bit hard to control on pc.
