I’m just trying to highlight that it really brought me back to an oldschool adventure game experience. It does some great things, and feels like a triple A game in many regards, but it is also a bit rough around the edges, and doesn’t do anything too mind-blowing. To begin, the highlight of the game is by far the combat. There are so many tools at your disposal, and they are all super easy to use and switch between. The game is mainly focused on melee combat. You do have firearms, however they serve more as counters to specific situations. Your main revolver doesn’t need to be aimed, your ammo replenishes on its own, and your rifle is primarily used to react to specific vulnerable enemies. And even more weapons with their own unique attributes. The game shines when you’re up close and personal with enemies though. Depending on what direction you are walking in when attacking, you can perform a variety of moves, and upgrades allow you to expand on your arsenal.
