About One Piece Online Rebirth:
I used to say that Destiny was my all-time favorite game. Then I played this, and my whole mindset changed. The music is amazing, The character building is actually realistic and believable, for me that is. Niko is freakin adorable! SPOILERS AHEAD The fourth wall breaks aren’t there to be there, it’s actually a very good storytelling device. And used sparingly, but still enough to be useful. The art style is very distinctly “Oneshot”. And even though Niko is hailed as this great savior Messiah, they still need you, the player, or whatever you have your users folder set to. They tell you about their dreams, even though you can see little snippets of them already. You get to build an actual relationship with Niko. One unlike any that I’ve ever seen. As I said earlier, even though they’re hailed as the savior. Niko is still just a kid, and you can see this very clearly in the late game where Niko breaks down crying, just because they had some pancakes that reminded them of their mom. And Niko says in that instance that their favorite food is pancakes, but specifically the ones “Mama” makes. This honestly had me in tears. But in the end we, meaning you and Niko together, have to make a choice of how the story ends, whether it be happy or sad. Heck, it might even be both. And that’s just for the main game’s ending.
